![]() Sometimes they are edited for content too. Sometimes they add new graphics on the bumps in and bumps out. Sometime they only add a new narrator re-writing the script to take out British terms and replace them with more American ones. Most shows are re-edited a bit, to least to meet the American clock, i.e. Americans wouldn't accept a British voice?īrings up another question.with the American version, all the engineers did was re-mix Sigourney Weaver's voice in with the original music/sfx right? I would imagine that's the only that was changed.was that also done in England? I have no idea what the producers were thinking. To be honest, even as an American, I really prefer David Attenburoughs narrative to Mrs. I do not at all agree with it, I'm just saying! An American accent for American viewers can only increase the number of viewers. ![]() Her accent opens the way for acceptance by some viewers who cannot see past their trailer park. ![]() Whether or not the replacement of Sir Attenboro was a necessary move, I do not think the show will be degraded by Ms. Weaver's defense, I've recorded and mixed her as a straight story telling VO and she was very, very good. Curious indeed that the same people who shout this slogan shop mostly at Wallmart, which imports huge amounts of merchandies from outside the borders for low prices. We currently have a socialist movement that has been regaining strength lately, "Buy American", which means to avoid buying anything produced or manufactured outside our borders. I think we will have to drop a few more notches in the world dominance game before this can be attempted again. It was met with so much resistance for so long that the efforts were eventually dropped with very little actual effect. Years ago there was a decades-long plan to change our USA measurement system to metrics. That's a great question! It is a sad fact that some large swaths of America are not open to anything or anyone that is not exactly like them, including accents, skin color, hair style, music, whatever. Have Americans a problem with British English?
